She's been at this for most of her life, and it shows. She not only knows the water, but she knows the fish, and how to put you on them. Stripers, Blues, Weaks, Fluke (summer flounder), and anything else that may be in the area will fall to her skills. Fly Fishing - no problem. Beginner? No problem. Experienced Anglers - you'll appreciate Capt. Melanie's skills. The Ladies and Kids love a day on the water with her. She can handle them all, and you'll love her company.

Captain Melanie is a Licensed Coast Guard Captain and holds a Master's Grade license.

Currently Capt. Melanie owns and operates a 21 Ft. Parker SE Center Console. Tours get under way from Sherer's Boat Basin, located at 482 East Bay Avenue in Barnegat, New Jersey, where "Old Barney" is readily seen as passengers begin their journey upon the scenic Barnegat Bay. Single parents, their children, and the physically challenged, in addition to small parties of sportsmen are among her clients. Bay cruising, crabbing and specialized area fishing are effortless requests. She has been featured in the "Hook, Line and Sinker" section of "The Asbury Park Press", the "Islander", and the "Fisherman" magazine. She is also a member of the Professional Fly and Light Tackle Guides Association, RFA, Sufix Pro Staff, and Pure Fishing Pro Staff Guide Team, as well as her recent induction into The Greater Point Pleasant Charter Boat Association.

She offers three and five hour bay excursions, which are available to the customer. All gear, including bait, is provided with the cost of the charters. Rod and reels are of high quality and in excellent condition. Captain Melanie provides a history of our local waters and educates guests about the delicate ecosystem of the area. Upon returning back to the dock, the fish are cleaned, bagged and iced for transport.

Arrangements can also be made at a few of the local resturaunts where the chefs will prepare your catch for dinner.
